During this
past year and the losses that the Gulf coast suffered we all heard about and saw
how Southern Baptist responded. Forty two states have trained disaster relief
teams and Tennessee is one of those states.
Several associations and churches across Tennesee have trained teams to respond
in a time of need. Types of teams include kitchen, mudout, chainsaw, childcare,
laundry, showers, counseling and others. Funds for this equipment comes from
Cooperative Program, Golden State Mission Offering, state conventions,
assocations, churches and individuals.
Some of this equipment is stored in a warehouse on Callahan Road and recently
they had the equipment out for an open house for people to stop by and see what
we have so we are able to respond to needs in a time of disaster. John
Faulkner and Paul Kelley spent some time there recently helping to clean some of
this equipment.
If you would like to learn more about disaster relief and how you can be a part
please contact Paul Kelley.
