The old pipe organ had been rebuilt once and finally was in such a shape
that it could not be repaired. A committee, headed by Terry Ratcliff,
assisted by Betty Ruth Dunham, Emory Riley and others, after much
research, recommended that a new organ be built by a firm in Morristown.
Estimated cost was $82,458.00 that was to be paid in installments while
it was being built in Morristown. It was finally completed and installed
in early 1994. It was recommended before installment that additional
pipes be added at a cost of $5,000.00
The organ was
dedicated on April 24, 1994, with Dianne Bailes having been invited back
to give a recital that day. |

The pipes are a silver color, but the day I
took this photograph the sun was shining through the stained glass
creating the effect you see.
