oti tl T DIFFERENCE
YOU are the church1 and the success or failure of our church depends upon the part that you play in it, This places this great responsibility squarely where it belongs...upon YOU
Yes, your attitude and the extent YOU
participate in the program of your church
determines its success or failure.,
If YOU attend, pray, and visit for your church we will always have great crowds in the Sunday School and Church Training. We will baptize every Sunday, and have new people joining the church.
If YOU are enthusiastic in boosting your church. If YOU are loyal and dependable then the future of your church Is assured. But YOU have a part that no one b!t YOU çn fill. Success depends on YOU. YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

FROM YOUR PASTOR2 S PEN
There are few more serious decisions a church can make than the selection of its leadership, especially its deacons, This Sunday we vote on four men who will serve the church as deacons. I ask you to consider carefully the qualifications of each man as you vote. These qualifications, in addition to those plainly given in scripture (I Tim0 3:1—13 and Titus 121—11), in— dude: (1. faithfulness to the church services; (2 willingass to assume places of responsibility; (3. ability and desire to maintain harmony and fellowship in the church; (4. willingness to measure every decision by the needs of the whole church both short and long range; (5. willingness to visit and minister to the church membership. (6. Be Concerned for lost souls and the spiritual development of the saved. There are good men in our church who meet these standards, After prayer, just remember that the spiritual temperature of our church will never rise above that of its leadership.
See you in church Sunday Bible in hand.
CARSON-NEWMAN COURSE
The Carson—Newman Extension Bible Course will be taught again in our church. Registration is August 26, 7:00 p.m. Cost is $10.00 plus the book. The Sessions will be on Tuesday nights, 7—9 p.m. for seven weeks beginning September 9. All Sunday School teachers, deacons and leaders are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
YOUTH CORNER - Begin now to pray for those who you plan to vote for to represent you this year on your Youth Council.
FROM YOUR EDUCATION
AND YOUTH DIRECTOR
Have you given much thought to your position of leadership as an officer and teacher in your chuich? If you have been asking yourselfthis question and/or thinking about your role at this time, then perhaps you would like to review the following scripture references. These may stimulate your 4ink— ing on this subject: John 3:3; 16:7—13; 20228; Psalms 42:1—2; 119:11; Luke 11:1—13; Matthew 25:34—40; Acts 1:8; and Romans 12:1—2,
In preparing for the officers and teachers meeting on August 20 at 6:45 p.m. might I challenge each of you to review the previous years work and to pay special attention to areas where you feel you have had the most difficulty. The experience you have is invaluable. You hold the keyto how successful our Sunday School will be in the future. Together, with the leadership of the Holy Spirit, our Sunday School can be one of the most importat hours in a persons2 life in helping them find what they need in their lives,
If you have not begun to pray for this officers and teachers meeting, please begin now because prayer can and does make a difference,
