ADD TO DEACONS MEET LAST SUNDAY:
Jack Reynolds and Joe Wyatt0 Total deacons present, 13,
Las t week in business meeting, the church took a major step forward in seeking
to more effectively minister to the needs of our city. We voted unanimously to
call a full time director of Education and Youth0 His area of ministry will be
in the organization of the church and with our young people0 The finance
committee is meeting this week to study the salary and benefits scale and make
necessary recommendations to the church. There is no area in our church that is
more importantt it future and growth than that of youth and eduction0 I hope you
will pray for these committees as they seek the man God has for this challenging
task.
We have invited a young man to visit with us on the week-end of May 24—25 to
look over our situatiQn and talk with our commit,, He is well qualified in the
field of education and is doing a fin? job with the youth in his church at the
present0 If the Lord leads him to us (and us to him) he and his wife would be a
real asset to our staff and church0 Next week in this column look for more
information about this prospective director of Education and youth0
See you in church Sunday
