FROM YOUR PASTORS DESK:
We stand on the threshold of a new day in our church. With prayerful and painstaking work, our Budget Preparation Committee has set the pace for our church in stewardship for 1976. The Budget they prepared speaks of our vision for the future. It challenges the very best in all of us. It was adopted by the church, after full and lenthy discussion, without a dissenting vote. The total of $120,000.00 calls for $2,300 each week. This means we must increase our giving on an individual basis. This means that many who have not done so before will take their stewardship responsibility seriously. What a blessing it will be and what joy it will gring to our hearts as we begin to give God our first fruits instead of the leftovers, There is nothing more delightful and attractive than a table set with a bountiful meal all decorated and pretty. There is nothing so unatrractive than a sink full of dirty dishes with the scraps and leftovers piled high beside the sink. I thi’ik this is how God feels when he sees our giving habits. He delights in sharing in the first fruits of our increase. He abhors having to do with only the leftovers. What are you going to give in 1976? Will it be just the leftovers or can God depend on you for the first fruits? See in Church Sunday, Bible in hand.
FROM YOUR EDUCATION
ND YOUTH DIRECTOR
Church—Wide Watch Night Service Schedule Wednesday, Dec. 31, 9 — 12 P.M.
9—10:15 Film”A Thf in the Night” A Thief in the Night is a mighty motion picture about Bible prophecy. It shows what can happen when Jesus Christ returns. This exciting story centers around Patty, an average girl caught in living for tlie present, with little concern for the future. What happens when this thinking finally catches up with her provides an action packed unforgetable drama.
The fast moviçig pace includes a young man confronted by a deadly Asian cobra, a young girl’s daring escape from jail, and a take over by”The Imperium” that regards all who are not properly indentified as enemies the system.
Filmed on located in Iowa, this picture protrays with devasting reality the Biblical prediction, “There will be no place to hide.” One does not merely view this film- he experiences it. Every thinking person will seriously condiser its impact.
10:15—11:15 — Fun and fellowship time in Fellowship Hall.
11:15—11:45 * Music program in Sanctuary
11:45—12:00 — Devotion by Rev. Reynolds.
