FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:
How our hearts thrill as we see an increase in every area of cur church
programs. Our Sun day School will soon reach 300 as all of us remain faithful in
attendance, Our church training is steadily growing and will soon teach a
respectable number
Now, I want to lay another area of growth need on ur hearts, the need for groper
stew atdship developrnent, There i no area that is so sadly neglected by so many
cbrisians as thjs, There is no limit to what our church cQn do ifl outreach and
missions when we take seriously our responsibility for our ater ial possessions
that is1 our money. We frequently hear people say that tithing their income is a
hard job. Tithing is a very easy matter if our motive is right. I tithe. I do
not tithe because the Lord (or the church) needs my money. I do not tithe
because I fear the curse of God .f I donut, I do not tithe because the Bible
teaches (although that iS one reason I know I should). I tithe because I love
the Lord and I want to do his will as far as is humanly possible.
We give the most to the objects of our first love, If our love for God, who
saved us from our sins, and our burning desire to see his gospel proclaimed
through Missions, has first place in our devotion, then tithing becotzee easy
and natural,
See you in church Sunday Bible in hand.

Listening With The Third Ear
Jacob Loewen1 a minister writes “Every dayF people around us send out frantic
signals fo help. But usually they go unheard because so many of us have not
developed our ‘third ear”..
Like Rev, Jacob Loawen it was also startlinc t me that I had a thirdear
communication ystern. I was working as a Social Worker in a nental haalth clinic
and as I would take ot my mask and talk openly about my experiences with God,
people and ato,, just as Rei, Lowen had done, I too gathered information about
how my peers addcspper&osz were reacting to my various experiences, Out of this
I too discovered that it was impossible for me to hear either the cries for help
by people in my environment or the still small voice of the Spirit of God “All
the lines were busy.” I too learned that the thrd-ear radar system I had been
using for self-image protection was also the channel that the Holy Spirit wanted
to operate on, Like Rev, Lea I too had to pray and ask God to be able to hear
both the voice of the Spirit and the calls of people in my environment who
really needed me,
As I pray I find it difficult to keep the channels open for the Holy Spirit.
Rev, Lcen offers some help for this, He too had this problem and learned to keep
the channels open to the Holy Spirit when praying by keeping a paper and pencil
handy to jot down all the irtruding thought. He learned that most of these
supposedly extraneous thoughts related to unfinisied business in his life. It
was then he began to understand the priority of the Holy Spirit’s work in human
life as in John 16. the first task of Gods Spirit is th convct men of sin, and
only when these matters have been taken care of does He proceed to lead men into
all truth,
The third ear is great for witnessing.
