FROM YOUR PASTORS DE5IC
!!S! ! _____
The treasurer of a ciurch resigned. The church asked another man, the manager of a local gra elevator, to ke his position0 He agreed to do so if the church would reo quire no report from him for one full year and if no one would ask him any questions about the churzhs finances during this one year0
The church was puzzled at this strange request, but the members f.Lnally agreed on these conditions0 Most of the people
brought their grain to him for processing, so they knew he was an honest man0
At the end of the year the new treasurer gave a glowing report of the church’s fir nanal condition,, The indebtedness of $25,000 on the church building had been paid in full0 The pastors salary had been increased. There were no outstanding bills and there was even a cash balance of $l2,00O
Immediately a surprised congregation wanted to know hat had happened0
“Most of you bring your grain to my ele vator0” te man replied0 As you did busmess with me, I simply withheld ten per cent on your behalf and gave it to the church in your name, You never missed it0 Do you see what we could do for the Lord if we were willing to give the first tithe to God who really own it?”

FROM YOUR EDUCATION
AND YOUTH DIRECTOR
Since August of this year we have set goals for our church0 This has sparked a sense of excitement and purpose as we have wôked to gether to reach people for Bible Study. Our rather pasive attitudes have changed to at— titudes of excitement and optimism as we have set our goals and then made our plans to read-i these goal&
We might ask ourselves,, how did this happen It happened because each of us need a definite sense of direction. Once our direction had be&i set we then began to use our Go&-given creati ity and we began to focus on our skills and abilities which would enable us to reach these goals.
All of this has Sappened because we have a purpose and that purpose is to witness to the community, to develop disciples, to min- ister and to reach people for Bible Study. God has given uja command to go and to witness in the name of Jesus0 As we continue to accept this challenge and responsibility as his ministers we will see people saved and we will see people get more excited about Bible Study and sitnessirig,
What are we doing to reach these goals? (1) We have a church’wide witnessing and visitatioi program meeting every Monday. In ‘ust three short weeks approximately 60 people have beer visited. We have additional S0 S0 classes and Church Trining Classes. As result have experienced a growth in S S0 and Church Training. We have enlisted more workers this year than before and we have plans to enlist more workers in the near future,. We have an on—goirg leadership training program in effect for all workers and leaders in S. S
We have set a goal of 300 in S S0 on Nov0 2. There is no reason for our not being able to reach this goal0 All signs are pointirtg to an exciting church year. Let us not relax now0
YOUTH CORNER Thank you, Judy and Paul Rice) for the wonderful Hayride last week0
