FROM YOUR PASTORS DESK
THE HEART TO CArE
FROM THE EDUCATION AND YOUTh EIRECTOR
The tragedy of a lost soul is beyond any grief the human heart could ever fully
under stand, It has been iaid that if we apply the word iost to anything1 it
spells tragdy0 How much more so when it 15 applied to the soul,
Last year about a million bo and girls entered careers of crime, Rape; murder,
armed robbery1 and other acts of violence have become a way of life for vast
numbers of young people0 Th curve of crime statistics is rising in every major
western power and tragically so in America0 Lakof moral responsibility in
American life threatens the very foundation of our civiiization
The appalling colossal iniffere.nce on the part of our church members to the
moral disintegration of this present generation and to the tragedy of the soul
that dies without God would bring sorrow to any heart that cared
God has blessed our Southern Baptist peo pie almost more than any other
denomination al group in the world0 It becomes our in- creasing responsibility-
therefore to save the lost and to teach to our people the mind of God that is in
Christ Jesus0 The ultimate purpose and outreach of any service is to lead men
Godward Heavenward2 Christward, Other than for this we have no reason to exist0
Copied
lass will begin to meet and all new church members
fouth grades, 7, 8 and 9 arid she is planning some t with the Senior High Youth.
SUNDAY SCHOOL PROMOTION DAY
Next Sunday; October 5; begins the new church year0 There will e classes
advancing in all four areas of the Sunday School Preschool2 Children2 Youth and
Adult0 All Sunday School leaders; especially those in younger age divisions, are
asked to instruct their classes today as to where they will meet next Sunday0
All literature should be distributed today., Absenaes should be corz tacted and
given their literature before next Sunday0
Today the bell will ring at iO30 for the benefit of those who will promote to
their new classes0 New teachers should meet with their new class long enough to
give out the new literature and meet their new class members0 The bell will ring
again at lO45 to call for the close of Sunday School0
