SUNDAY SCH0OI EMPHASIS FOR 1975-76 has already begun, The officers and teachers
of our church met on Wednesday August 20 and decided to begin this new church
year by involving ourselves in studying the study course book entitles
“Administering The Bible Teaching Program.” We also decided to begin a ob
training guide for the Sunday School Director and each general officer,
department director, all teachers and any interested prospectiver general
officers, department directors and teachers. We are looking to build a strong
Sunday School and everyone seemed to feel that this study course might offer us
a good beginning point for the new church year. We read from Gods’ Word iz II
Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself apprtved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be asamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.
This study course will be taught beginning on Sunday night Sept. 21 and
continuing through Wednesday night Sept, 24. Every Sunday School leader should
plan to attend this study course,

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S PEN
Dr. Lof ton, Christian Marriage Counsellor, has some very important point on
worship and church attendance “Its high time that some members of our church
wake up to the sinister influence they are exerting. When a member of a Sunday
School Class marches home regularly after Sunday School and never attends the
worship service, you can put it down that here is a church member who is kidding
himself. He has not worshipped He has not ma’de a lasting contribution in
carrying on the gospel. What he has done is put himself in the position of
pretending to be enlisted so the church can not work on him as a lost person,
yet he is not a church worker, He has deceived himself by doing something
religious, to wit, sat in a Sunday School class, which salves his conscience and
keeps him from realizing he is really unchurched. I tell you the truth, I would
not attend Sunday School if I could not stay for church. I honestly believe
attending Sunday School as a substitute for attending church is the greatest
hinderence there is to the growth of God’s Kingdom.
“How long has it been since your Sunday School Class won one soul to Jesus
Christ? Well Brother (or Sister), you’d better turn your class into a Prayer
Meeting”
If you can get to only one service on Sunday morning, attend the Worship
Service. You might get converted there and then you would be eager to be taught
the Word in Sunday Schl But when you attend Sunday School for years but never
get interested in the rest of the church, you’re like the Negro man who passed
by a tombstone in the cemetery which read, “ “Im not dead, I’m only aeep.” He
turned on his heel and exclaimed ‘Man, you ain’t foolin nobody but you’ self.”

See you in church Sunday, Bible in hand.
THANK YOU:I wish to thank everyone for their prayers and visits during my recent
surgery. I an now at home and would appreciate your continuing to remember me in
your prayers

FROM YOUR EDUCATION
ANt) YOUTH DIRECTOR
Since beginning the educstion ministry here just four short weeks ago, I have
felt a very warm spirit of willingness and cooperation from everyone. With this
type of attitude, I feel we can only go forward in our efforts to build a strong
education and youth program for our church.
It takes a lot of prayer, time, patience and work from everyone and I trust
everyone is searching his heart and soul in an effort to allow the Holy Spirit
to guide them and direct them to the particular work He would have them to do.
He is looking for people like Mrs. Blythe, who was visiting our church, say,
“Here I am Lord send me,” during Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting on August 20.
Mrs. Blythe said she felt the Holy Spirit tell her to go to Prayer Meeting and
she testified to this fact. How we are blessed when we are humble and willing to
follow the Holy Spirits’ leading.
Is the Holy Spirit speaking to you, Adult? Is the Holy S;irit speaking to you,
Young person? All you have to have is a willing heart. I feel we-hav&.hany
i1±±ng’harts and it is my prayer that more of us will say, “Here I am Lord, send
me.”
