FROM YOUR PASTOR’S PEN:
Koinonia, the word translated “Fellowship” in the New Testament is one of the
most beautiful and meaningful words in the Greek language. The fellowship of
believers is the genius of success for the church Look around you on any Sunday
and see how many people you know well enough to call them by their first name.
The fewer the number is the more you need the fellowship1 both formal and infor—
ma!, of the church.
Sunday1 Nov0 9, after the evening service1 we are having a church-wide
fellowship hour in fellowship hail downstairs. Nothing planned and no formal
program are in the offing; just some light refreshments (cake and coffee) and a
chance to mingle and visit with each other and get better acquainted0 At that
time those who joined our church during this year will be presented as our
special guests. Many of us rarely have (or take) the time to get to know our new
people0 Those who are visiting in the service that niht have a special
invitation to stay0
Make your plans now to come0 Just make your favorite deseett recipe and bring
it. The church will have the coffee (and koolade for the wee folks) ready0
See you in church Sunday — Bible in hand0

FROM YOUR EDUCATION
AND YOUTH DIRECTOR
Throughout the next church year on special occasions we will be promoting “Young
Family Togethering”. This is a planto draw families together which can be a
meaningful alternative to the separating life style most families live out
today0 With the help of the Sunday School Board we will in special seasons,
suggest activities which will show what a family can do to draw its members
closer to each other in shared experience. You will be hearing more about this
in the near future0
On Nov0 19 at 615 p.m, we are planning a Church Family Togethering which will be
a Thanksgiving Supper for all our church family. This will be a covered dish
supper and we are requesting that you bring your favorite Thanksgiving food0
Please make arrangements to have your family together at church for this
Thanksgiving supper, This will take the place of our regular fellowship supper
which would have been on Nov. 12
YOUNG FAMILY TOGETHERING ACTIVITY: APP IRMATION COLLAGES,. This activity takes
several weeks to complete, devoting one week to each member of the family.
Throughout that week every other member of the family is to look through
magazines and papersf for pictures and word/phrases that best depict that
person. Clip and collect these pieces from the week—long search; then designate
an evening when the collage will be assembled and glued on a piece of poster
board. Place that persons name in the middle San large letters (cutouts), Frame
the poster- board with construction paper edging, using the favorite color of
the person beinga affirmed. Hang it near the family meal table during the season
of the activity. It is affirming to have this attention as the rest of the
family celebrates who you are. A time of prayer, thanking God for this person in
his presence wraps up the activity for that week. Now start on the next member.
