VISITATION
j Visitation is the lifeline of the Sunday School. The Sunday
School will grow in direct proportion to your visitation effort. The
Bible teaches that reaching people comes under the law of “sowing & reaping”. If
we expect to have a harvest, we have to be continually
sowing. We will reap in direct proportion to the amount that we sow. I look upon
the Sunday School as the Church organized to reach
people. I believe that the mandate of the Church is to make disciples. If we are
to be obedient to the Lord, we must carry out His mandate. The Lord not only
gave us this marching order but he set the example. This was His practice. He
was out in the field going from village to
village, town to town, city to city. He went where the people were.
He did not build a building, set up headquarters, and wait for them to come to
Him. He went out after them. “Go out into the highways and hedges and compel
them to come in that my house may be filled.”
Being obedient to the command of the Lord and going out after people is an
expression of our love for the Lord. We express our love for the Lord as we
share the gospel. Jesus said, “Ye are my witnesses.”
Jesus has given us the command to go. If we love the Lord, we will
be obedient to the Lord’s command. We must visit if we are obedient to Christ. A
Church who refuses to visit is disobedient to the Lord
